DOC&ROLL During the academic year 2011/2012 the research team Canal Campus at the Faculty of Communication Sciences, in collaboration with AGADIC developed an initiative to spread the music related with the project THE MUSIC YEAR. All Thursdays a music group offered a live perfermance between 12:30 and 13:00, in the outside of the faculty for a potential audience of the students of the Campus Norte at the USC. On the academic course 2012/2013, following the positive experience, the Canal Campus wanted to renew the initiative with a format more adjusted to the university space. The performances time was scheduled on Thursdays between 11:00 to 13:00 hours, a time which the Faculty of Communication Sciences dedicated for students enjoy of complementary activities. To cover part of this space we proposed Doc & Roll, an initiative that will have the characteristics detailed here: DOC & ROLL
Dates: Thursdays Time: 11:00 to 13:00 hours. Frequency: twice-weekly Place: Auditorium of the Faculty of Communication Sciences at the USC Contents: Projection of a documentary + musical performance + debate. Synopsis: Each proposal will be designed adjusted to a specific theme. The event includes: Viewing of the documentary / report, debate on the subject between the musicians and experts that participate in the event and the performance of the musical group participant. The live performances, as well as the debates could be seen through streaming on the web http://tv.usc.es/directo4.html Objectives: – Viewing documentaries and original works related to the different areas of the artistic, musical and audiovisual world, as well as tendencies, all this to generate in the students their entrepreneur capacity. – To provide, through a colloquium with professionals and artists of the viewed works, the professional and creative analysis of each treated subject, as well as the generation of a critical spirit. – To listen to a live musical proposal and to establish a colloquium with professional experts, artists, musicians, managers, cultural programmers, researchers … The documentaries were related with the following fields: art, cinema, television, music, technicians … At the end of each session there was a live musical performance. Thanks to the invaluable help of all the people involved in this project, volunteering, we could do these academic activities.
